Diesel spill on the western Interstate 10 delayed traffic on Tuesday morning, with teams of the Baton Rouge fire service responded.
The spill is caused when a bright pole generator fell from the back of a truck, spilling 30 gallons diesel on the entrance ramp of St. Louis to I-10. About 150 yards were covered, according to BRFD.
“Due to the slope and curvature of the lane, Hazmat’s staff demanded a sand truck to absorb residual diesel and improve grip,” a Facebook Facebook post said.
Drivers in the area are urged to be careful.
The entrance ramp from St. Ferdinand Street to I-10 West remains blocked due to spilled load. The congestion is currently minimal.
