The Council of State Performers in Nevada invites the women to an annual event for hammers and hope – Kolo

Reno, Nev. (Kolo) – In honor of the National Women in Construction Women Week, the Council of State Nevada State Performers (NSCB) will hold its annual Hammers and Hope event aimed at introducing/highlighting many career career opportunities for high school and college and women in the Community, focusing on women in need.

NSCB licensing administrator, Susan Brilli-Kamesh, stopped at Morning Break to share the details of the event next week.

Hammers and Hope is held on Tuesday, March 4 from 10:00 to 12pm at the TMCC Applied Technology Center (475 Edison Way, Reno). It will include a panel discussion with industry experts providing information on a variety of careers in construction and current/available training and job opportunities. Women’s professionals will lead a mentor breakthrough sessions with interested participants to provide a thorough look at the work “in the field” how to get started and what is needed to make construction career career. In addition, the event will include a career fair with representatives from the entire construction industry, which will allow participating companies to hire future workers and/or provide access to services.

Hammers and Hope is an initiative of the NSCB Construction Commission, whose mission is to improve the quality and integrity of the construction industry by providing grants to organizations with innovative, creative and profitable educational programs that will help to attract and maintain highly qualified work force. Throughout the year, the committee owns a A series of expert panels of the construction industry aimed at introducing adults and high school students for the benefits of a career career, as well as to support efforts to develop labor in the local construction industry.
