The city of Birmingham hopes to see free property assistance legislation – WBRC

Birmingham, Ala. (WBRC) – The Birmingham City Council and Mayor Randall Udfin met with the Jefferson County Delegation to talk about ideas that they hope to continue this legislative session.

The city hopes for legislation that could help clean up convicted buildings in the city. Ideas include the introduction and application of maintenance standards.

Last city session received permission to prevent buildings with a pledge to apply code. This provides the city with another tool for reforming and restoring the land where the property is for a trouble.
