An employee of the city who died in the Birmingham City Hall was a rainwater specialist who remembered friends as a dedicated husband, father and colleague.

Troy Joseph Perry, Jr., 67, died Thursday. He lived in Birmingham.

Perry was found in the staircase between the 10th and the 11th floors at 11 o’clock.

Jefferson’s chief deputy carrier Bill Yates said Perry was named dead at 11:10. There is no unscrupulous game.

Perry works in the catchment area in the planning, engineering and permits for eight years. Previously, he worked at the health department of Jefferson for 30 years.

Mayor Randal Udfin released this statement on his social media:
