Jason Savage, 35 -year -old, has been found guilty of planning a terrorist attack

The jury heard how Savage – since March 2022 and until his arrest in March 2024 – has studied and planned an activity to carry out an attack.

Savage became Islam in 2010 and followed a final and violent interpretation of Salafi’s movement.

Prosecutors told the court that Savage was directed to a Salafi priest, linked to a mosque and bookstore in a small hay, as the priest was an outspoken critic of Islamist terrorism and extremism, contrary to Savage’s views.

The jurors were shown what was described as a reconnaissance video, which was made by Savage three days before his arrest. This shows him that he is touring the place of the mosque and the bookstore, discussing points of entry, the routes that the police are likely to attend and escape from the routes.

Savage also downloaded and watched violent and extremist videos, examined how to kill with a knife and how to make parts of a gun and ammunition, as well as conduct intelligence of military buildings and police sections as potential places.

Days before his arrest, Savage changed his Lone Wolf profile to Lone Wolf, showing that he plans to do an incident alone. On the day of his arrest (March 14, 2024), Savage’s messages and intentions are increasing, in a voice note to his friend he exclaimed that he will “see him in paradise”, he believes that the activity he plans will lead to this that he does not survive.

Savage was not aware that the “friend” with whom he shared reports is actually an undercover police officer to combat terrorism in West Midlands. As a result of the concerned message, employees arrested savage hours later on Birmingham Street.

He was accused of March 21 in Section 5 of the 2006 Terrorism Act, joining the behavior in the preparation for terrorist acts.

A knife was restored from his address, which had adapted by removing the handle and packing with fabric.

Head of Terrorism Counteract in West Midlands, Chief Chief of Detective Alison Hurst He said: “Many arrests that are committed to suspected terrorism are pre -planned, but Divac’s arrest was conducted on a street in the evening as we have become increasingly concerned about his behavior.

“Thanks to these quick public protection, there is no doubt that we have stopped a dangerous individual to attack an attack that would cause injury and potential and victims.”

Savage is to be sentenced on April 4.
