Birmingham, Ala. (Wiat) – The Birmingham Education Council rejected an application on Tuesday by the Alabama Aerospace and Aviation High School to open a campus in the city.

Initially, the school tried to land in Birmingham, but found itself in Besimmer. The school hopes to expand and open the campus near Ah Parker High School, but is confronted with opposition to residents and board.

Mauri Robinson, the Aerospace and Aviation High School in Alabama, director of operations and finance, said the school plans to appeal.

“We understand that the Birmingham School Council has made its decision,” Robinson said. “This was the story, so we are certainly prepared for this, and although we understand and respect their decision, we will move on. Just like an airplane when it is engaged in turbulence, it does not mean that it does not reach their destination. We are committed to providing a quality educational option for Birmingham citizens. “

Robinson said it was open time for enrollment for the upcoming school year.
