Texas Longhorm quickly sees its NCAA tournament hoping to decrease during the most critical point of their season.
Texas had its most vague loss this season on Saturday night in Colombia, as South Carolina Gamecocks took its first SEC victory for the year and finished the 13-dark losing series in winning 84-69 over Longhorns thanks to 22 points and 10 bounces From the star forward Colin Murray-Boil. Texas gave up as many as 22 before reducing the lead to only 12 in the second half.
The Texas guard Tre Johnson had 29 points and was the only Longhorn in double figures. Arthur Kaluma returned from a nine -point injury and four rebounds, while Kadin Cyrrick had eight points and nine rebounds.
South Carolina Guards Jamary Thomas and Zahari Davis had 12 points in number, while Morris Ugusuk added 10 points. Gamecocks finished 34 of 45 of the foul.
Texas fell into a 10-point hole halfway in the first half, while Gamecocks built an lead from 17-7 at the 9:29 brand. Johnson struck a threesome to reduce the deficit to seven, but did the Longor people know that this would note the closest that the game would be for the rest of the night.
South Carolina’s defense suffocated Texas in the first half, as Longhorns entered the dressing room 18 with a low 22 points. Texas had no answer to Murray Boils, who rammed Longhorns low at both ends of the court, finishing the first half with 16 points, seven rebounds and three blocks.
Nothing changed to start the second half for Texas. Gamecocks continued to seem to be seemingly as they wanted from the floor and the fake line, while Longhorns had no answer from the other end. Texas gave South Carolina a reason to worry late after a 11-1 running reduced the lead to 71-59 by 3:54 to play, but Gamecocks managed to safely avoid a massive breakdown.
After losing to the oldest team in SEC, Longhorns are now faced with significant questions about deserving winning on the spot in March.
