Tesla expands hiring for the production of Optimus robots at Fremont Factory – Econotimes

Tesla Inc (Nasdaq: Tsla) opened numerous engineering positions in its Fremont factory, signaling the press to mass production of its Optimus humanoid robot. The company’s website lists at least 12 jobs, including manufacturing engineers, production managers and processes supervisors, all related to the Tesla Bot project.

This hiring follows the latest claims by Executive Director Elon Musk that Optimus can generate $ 10 trillion long -term revenue. He said Tesla aims to produce 10,000 units in 2025 and start commercial supplies by the second half of 2026. Musk also predicts a potential price of $ 20,000 per unit after production reaches one million robots a year, Although it does not specify a time line.

Tesla’s humanoid robot is part of the company’s broader strategy to diversify outside its electric vehicle business, which is facing sales in North America and Europe and increasing competition by Chinese car manufacturers. Musk repeatedly emphasizes artificial intelligence and autonomous technology as key engines of Tesla’s future growth.

Last year, Tesla showed a bot of optimus to an event, retrieving both excitement and skepticism, with some critics questioning its true level of autonomy. However, Tesla progresses forward with its AI-moving ambitions using its Fremont factory to increase the production of its humanoid robots.

The last hiring wave emphasizes Tesla’s commitment to robotics and AI as it navigates the challenges of the EV market. Investors and technology enthusiasts will carefully monitor how Tesla performs its vision for Optimus and whether it can successfully provide Musk’s ambitious projections.
