Tech downed Lubbock Christian 17-1 – TexasTech.com

Lubbock, Texas – Texas Tech softball is back in action against Lubbock Christian on Thursday night at Rocky Johnson Field. The Red Raiders used 23 hits to score 17 runs and allowed just two hits and one run over 10 innings.

NiJaree Canady was almost perfect in the round. She went five innings, struck out nine batters and allowed just one base runner on a hit by pitch.

Chloe Riaceto allowed just one run over three innings while Brenly Gonzalez went two innings and struck out five of the six batters he faced.

On the offensive side, Micah Davis went 6-for-6 at the plate with two doubles and a pair of RBIs. Bailey Lindemuth went 5-for-6 with a triple and three RBI while Logan Haleman recorded three hits and an RBI of his own.

Anya German and Reagan Jennings both scored doubles and scored as Haley Tony recorded a three-RBI triple.

Katie Lott also recorded multiple RBI as Canady recorded two hits and an RBI at the plate.

Alanna Johnson, Lauren Allred and Makayla Garcia also recorded hits and each picked up an RBI.

Tech erupted for five runs in the fifth and seven runs in the ninth after scoring one run in each of the first two innings.

NEXT: The Red Raiders will face Lubbock Christian again on Thursday at 6:30 pm at LCU Field.
