Taylor IV leads No. 13/15 Aggies past Gamecocks, 76-72 – Fox Carolina

Columbia, SC (South Carolina Athletics) -Waye Taylor IV had 25 points and tied his career high with seven 3-3-stories, as No. 13 Texas A&M detained South Carolina 76-72 on Saturday night.

Aggies (17-5, 6-3 Southeast Conference) seemed to have passed after the sixth 3 of Taylor at the beginning of the second half gave them a lead by 49-36. But Gamecocks scored the next 11 points to tighten things.

South Carolina still decreased only 74-72 after Colin Murray Boil’s bucket with 1.8 seconds remaining.

But Henry Coleman III of A&M followed with two free throws to end things.

Taylor coincided with his best performance from the outside, placed last March in the victory of the NCAA tournament over Nebraska.

Murray-Boil had 22 points to lead Gamecocks (10-12, 0-9).

• Texas A&M entered tonight, firing by 30.7% (146 N-476) as a whole and 28.3% (53 in 187) in SEC game as a team behind the arc. Aggies made 11 3s tonight, including nine in the first half, with 11-on-23 (47.8%) at the back.
• The A&M also reached the free throws line with 30 attempts (21 FTS made) to the 12th of Carolina.

Remarkable

• Sophomore’s striker Colin Murray Boils had 22 points, with his team-host six games 20 points for the season. The leader of the target of the SEC field had another effective night from the floor, going 11 to 16 (68.8 percent) from the floor. His 11 goals on the spot were the highest of the season, and this is the fifth time in his career, he had two-digit goals.

• Sophomore’s guard Morris Ugusk gave Gamecocks a 12 -point bench thanks to the Four 3s, which all came in the second half.
• Gamecocks coincided with their highest season with 12 3S made tonight. Carolina entered the game 4-0 this season when she made 10 or more 3s.

South Carolina is excluded in the middle of the week before traveling to Rupp Arena to stand against No. 12/12 Kentucky (15-6, 4-4 sec) next Saturday. Gamecocks won 71-68 in the historic building on January 10, 2023 in the first season of Lamont Paris. He became only the third head coach in the history of the program he won in the UK.
