Taste of the City: Eat brunch, review the history of Leola’s in Baton Rouge – AOL

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPRUD) — Government Street in Baton Rouge is full of unique restaurants, but one allows diners to grab a late breakfast and then walk a few feet to shop.

Leola opened during the pandemic, sharing a building with an antique shop circa 1857.

“It’s just a great concept where you can eat and shop,” said LeAnn Ringe, who co-owns Leola’s with her husband.

Ringe said they were looking for a place to open a brunch spot, and the Government Street location stood out.

“Our smart real estate agent led us to this place and we couldn’t pass it up,” Ringe said.

Leola’s is known for its mimosas, pancakes and other brunch staples. It is open from 9 am to 2 pm every day except Sundays.

Leola’s Cafe and Coffee House is located at 1857 Government St.
