Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving is a MUST START in Fantasy Football for Week 8 – The Wright Way Network

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were devastated on Monday Night Football with injuries to their stars. Mike Evans went down with a hamstring injury early in the first half. Chris Godwin later towards the end of the game, without hope, was still there and suffered a season-ending leg injury. The Buccaneers are still in the hunt for the NFC South Championship and face the division rivals Atlanta Falcons on Oct. 27 and will need everyone else to pick up the slack.

The Atlanta Falcons defense was mediocre against running backs in 2024. The first time the Buccaneers and Falcons faced off in Week 5, tThe Falcons allowed the running backs 116 rushing yards and 5 receptions in an overtime win against the Bucs.

Bucky Irving rushed for just 44 yards and had 2 catches for 12 yards in that week five game.

This time will be different as the game will be played in Tampa Bay and without receivers Godwin and Evans. Bucky Irving and Rachaad White should see an increase in touches.

The Falcons Defense is allowing 22 hits against and nearly 6 targets to running backs through 7 weeks. The Buccaneers this upcoming week should see even more of that now with these unfortunate injuries. If we were to use the stats and split those touches between the two running backs, that would be it Irving on 14 guaranteed touches.

For the Buccaneers to win and keep their chances of winning the division alive, they need to get Irving at least 20 touches in this upcoming game.

Bucky Irving is the future for this offense and it’s time to let him run the backroom and be on the field more. The Buccaneers need to keep Irving outside and get the ball in his hands quickly. He has the ability to break up tackles and make explosive plays. With Evans and Godwin out, Irving is the best choice for who Mayfield should go to now.
