TALLAHSEE MAN convicted of life imprisonment in 2015. Murder of 2-year-yahoo

The Talahasi court session this week sentenced a local man on a first-degree murder charge in 2015 to a 2-year-old who was under his concern.

According to the State Prosecutor’s press release, 31-year-old Antonio D. Woods was also sentenced to life in prison.

According to published reports, the Talahasi police and the Leon county paramedics responded to a call around 1 in the morning on May 15, 2015 at a home on California Street because the child does not breathe.

But the first stage officer found the child motionless, lifeless and cold to touch in the trunk of a car outside the home, say court records. They tried to revive the child before taking him to the Talahassi Memorial.

A later investigation revealed that Woods was a lover of the child’s mother and took care of the child while the mother was at work.

Prosecutors said Woods beating the child for days or weeks, which involved hitting the child with a belt, bone fracture and bruising and other wounds. In the end, Woods delivered a “dull trauma” to the child’s head, killing him, they added.

Chief Assistant State Prosecutor Georgia Kliman pursues; Woods was presented by Montillo -based criminal protection lawyer Chuck Collins. Judge J. Lee Marsh was chaired.
