The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating a shooting Thursday afternoon that led to a car crash.
About 1:45 p.m., officers arrived near the intersection of Phillips Road and Blair Stone Road — near the Florida Department of Law Enforcement headquarters — where a vehicle crashed after another vehicle fired at it, TPD spokeswoman Heather Merritt said.
“The victim did not suffer gunshot wounds, but the vehicle was struck by several bullets and sustained damage during the crash,” Merritt said. “The suspect vehicle immediately fled the scene.”
The suspect was found near the intersection of Tennessee and Monroe streets. Officers also conducted a “high-risk stop” near Madison and South Monroe streets, where they detained six suspects for questioning. The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear and the investigation is ongoing, Merritt said.
