Talahasi firefighters respond quickly to structure fire – newspaper

Tallahassee, Florida – Firefighters at the Talahassi Fire Service (TFD) reacted to a fire on the Milton Street structure early Wednesday morning. The crews arrived in less than five minutes to find a strong smoke that shrinks from a two-storey residence.

Fire suppression efforts were quickly initiated and the nearby structures were protected, according to the department press release. After entering the home, firefighters came across severe fire conditions and confirmed that they were not inhabitants inside. The State Fire Marshal service is called to investigate the cause of the fire.

The Talahasi Police Department, Leon Empt County and the Talahassi City, assisted TFD at the scene. The department reminds residents of remaining vigilant in fire prevention measures, including the installation and maintenance of smoke alarms. “A properly installed and maintained smoke alarm can alert you and your family to fire 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” the source said.
