Sustainable Tallahassee, Local Nursery Team for Planting Tree for Independence – Tallahassee Democrat

After celebrating the one -year anniversary of the first resident, who moved into the landing of independence at the end of 2023, the community now welcomes significant efforts to plant trees on Saturday, February 15th to noon.

Friends, family and board members will join independence residents, as over 50 trees and shrubs will be strategically and planted to provide shade, beauty, bird habit and carbon removal for a sustainable future. The plants were generously donated by the durable Talahassi tree. Fund.

This ST Fund honors the inspirational generosity of 6-year-old Olivia Ingram. In 2020, Olivia, discouraged by the loss of trees on the ground, where her family built their home, owned a Lamanada booth. She raised $ 500, which were then donated to the sustainable Talahassi and Olivia’s Fund of Olivia.

The plan is provided by local nurseries, like most of the plants purchased from the Tallahasse Carbon Carbon Fund. Additional trees were donated at the end of 2024 until May, Havana’s nurseries, and the landscaping of Allpro ensured the pre -digging holes in the donated trees.

To complete the preparation for the day of planting, Stan Rosenthal presented a program on how to plant and maintain the trees of many of the residents of landing independence.

Part of the effort is for residents to take responsibility for plants care. Stan has been serving as a legend of Leon County for over 30 years and is well appreciated as a teacher providing information to help the sustainability of our trees.

The audience is invited to participate.
