Topeka, Kan. (WIBW) – a local center that specializes in providing services for people with mental health challenges is preparing for its annual February to raise funds.
The solar connection, located at 3434 SW 6th Ave., will hold a cordial to heart raising in February.
Merilli Murphy, director of the organization, said the raising of heart -heart funds is important to help the center maintain its services to its customers.
While the agency receives donations throughout the year, it is especially focused on February for its efforts to raise funds.
The monetary donations generated in February help the organization pay to maintain its vans used to transport customers to and from the center, as well as elsewhere around the capital.
The solar connection is open to anyone who would like to give up, Murphy said.
It serves as a type of “dropping center” and offers breakfast and lunch for free to those who are present.
The center is open from 8am to 3pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 3434 SW 6th Ave.
