South Carolina’s basketball is six matches in its 2024-2025 Sec. Gamecocks are 10-10 and 0-7 in conferences playing after an overtime defeat in the hands of Mississippi Bulldogs. Carolina is 0-7 in SEC for the first time in the history of the program.
The season is moving away from Gamecocks, but there is much more to play to go forward. Like life in SEC, Carolina will have to face another quality opponent, as they have to travel to Athens to take up Georgia’s bulldogs.

Summary Verification: Georgia Bulldogs
Record: 14-6 (2-5 in sec)
AP: Unranked; ranked 23rd two weeks ago
Last week: Loss to Arkansas 65-68 in Faetavil; Florida loss 59-89 in Gainesville
Previous meeting: South Carolina won 72-62 in Athens in the 2023-2024 season
Georgia lost four consecutive games after missed the poll of the Top 25 AP 25 of the 2010-2011 season. Mike White’s team is talented and won the top 10 Kentucky earlier this month and it is desperate to preserve its NCAA hopes alive. With South Carolina at seven games a losing series, something will have to give on Tuesday.
Bulldogs went 12-1 during their non-conference schedule. The 12 victories included quality victories over Grand Canyon, St. John’s, Notre Dame and Georgia Tech. The five losses at the Georgia conference had four top-16 teams (Ole Miss, Tennessee, Purron and Florida) and the talented Arkansas Razorbacks.
Focusing on the competition on Tuesday night, Georgia is ranked 12th in the SEC inserting a violation (76.3 points per match). The defense was a little better in Athens, as the Bulldogs handed over 66.5 points per competition, a number for 7th place in the league. UGA plays at a slower pace, which means they are a little better than these raw numbers can show. They are in eighth place in the SEC in the percentage of the field target and the fifth in the permitted percentage of the purpose of the field. Bulldogs do a very good arc protection work, handing over only 28.5% 3-point efficiency.
When Georgia wins, a foul line is often a factor. Bulldogs are ranked fourth in SEC in attempts to free this season. However, they convey the fourth most useful trip to the charity strip. South Carolina has similar charts at the internal conference (4th in attempts, permitted 2nd game). The team that wins this battle will be of the greatest benefit in Athens this week.
None of the team in the conference gives the ball more than Georgia’s Bulldogs. In fact, an average of 13.8 turnover per game, Georgia is bound for 308th place on a national scale in dubious statistics. These numbers were worse, as the bulldogs average over 15 turnover of the game during the loss of four games.
The big man of freshman Asa Newel is the best player of the team. He leads Dawgs in scoring and is one of 17 players in SEC up to an average of over 15 points per game. It also downloads 6.9 rebounds and on average about one block and steals each night. SILAS DEMERY is the Grand Guard class of Georgia, which can be lowered. Personal keeper Dakota Lefev (USC transfer portal is aimed at this out -season) joins Newell and Demery as two -digit goal scorers. Leffw and Starting Wing Blue Cain are a 3-point bombers, but Cain is fighting a bit this season.
Defense, freshman Somto Cyril is a great determination of the rim. Although it gets off the bench, Cyril is second in the conference in blocked footage. It is amazing that he only plays 15 minutes per game. He is also second in the UGA team in Rebounding. Former Clemson Tiger (and the son of Georgia Randal Godfrey football legend) RJ Godfrey is also a solid body in the post.
Entering the race against Gamecocks, Georgia is a very healthy team. Prior to the last game of the team against Florida, coach White did not include any player in the stock report, a term of SEC.
Gamecocks and Bulldogs will give up at 7:00 pm at Coliseum Stegeman on Tuesday, January 28th. SEC Network will broadcast the game and the ESPN app will transmit it.
