After pointing UC San Diego to Road Weekend 2-0, sophomore Sumaya Sugapong claimed for the Big West’s week’s award for the third time this season (December 2, December 16). UC San Diego players are already combining for four such prizes, most for Tritons for a season.

Against the Gowhos, the guards collected 21 points with 21 points in the victory 62-43, with a trip of 11 out of 12 of the free throws. Sugapong has secured the top eight career fights to go with three assists on Thursday.

Born in San Diego poured with 23 points and finished 5 out of 8 of a three-point range at 82-44 victory on Saturday at CSUN. Sugapong also added five fights, the best team four assists and a pair of theft to limit the weekend with a fifth 20-point performance during the season.

Sugapong leads the big west into assists (3.9) and steals (2,48) per match through the average point of league actions. Currently, UCSD is fourth in the ranking, with the first eight teams moving to the Hercules Basketball Basketball Championship 2025.
