Storm Center Afternoon Update: Rain overnight; More rain by the weekend – AOL

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — Scattered showers and a few storms have already moved through central parts of KELLOLAND, but we still have a few more chances to see some rain elsewhere…specifically in the Southeast.

From 6pm CST Sunday

From 6pm CST Sunday

Additional showers and an isolated thunderstorm or two will still be in the cards as we head into the night. While not everyone will see/hear something, it’s worth mentioning because of how dry the last two months have been.

A few showers may linger early Monday near and east of I-29, but much of the day Monday looks to be mostly dry. Overnight we will see some moisture trying to be pushed back into SE KELOLAND as low pressure tracks south and east of the region. It should be out of here by mid-morning on Tuesday.

Speaking of election day, much of the day is shaping up to be a dry and seasonable day for much of the region. We may see some sleet/snow showers to the west depending on your elevation later in the evening, but overall no significant weather is in the forecast for the big day on Tuesday.

The rest of the mid-week outlook is shaping up to be generally dry and seasonal. By the weekend, however, we’re starting to see another chance for rain across the area from south to north.

Here’s a look at your extended forecast:
