St. Paul’s police asking for public assistance after the stolen statue of F. Scot Fitzgerald – Kare11.com

The bronze statue of the great author of Gatsby is on North Dale Street 25 from 2006 and was sculpted by Aaron Daisart.

St. Paul, Min. – Police ask the public for information after a statue of young F. Scot Fitzgerald was stolen last week outside the former St. Paul Academy, where he attended school.

According to the St. Paul Police Department, the statue was stolen between Monday, February and Friday, February 7, when it was first reported to have disappeared.

Fitzgerald, a novelist and an essayist, was born in St. Paul in 1896 and attended the private school between 1908 and 1911. There he wrote some of his first plays and has short stories published in the school’s magazine.

Fitzgerald continued to write several short stories and novels, including the Great Gatsby in 1925.

The bronze statue is on 25 North Dale Street from 2006 and is sculpted by Aaron Daisart.

Anyone with information about the statue is asked to call the St. Paul Police Department at 651-291-1111.
