St. Paul’s County Approves Requests for Financing Commercial Chambers – Lakeland today

The Council of St. Paul’s County approved requests for funding from St. Paul, Elk Point and Malays’ Chamber of Commerce on January 27th.

St. Paul – The Council of St. Paul’s County approved requests for funding by St. Paul’s Commercial Chamber, ELK and Malaig Commercial Chamber on January 27.

In a letter to the Council, Yvonne Weinmeier, CEO of the St. Paul House, wrote that funding would help support the House and Community’s continuous effort.

Some of the plans are to host a business conference, Nights for men and ladies, Business Challenges and Gala Business Awards, Weinmeier wrote.

“These events come with a great price, and since the Chamber is a non -profit organization, we are simply not able to afford to fund these types of events. Therefore, we want your financial support. ”

Weinmeier Also Listed Some Chamber Efforts She Says Kept The Community Involved and Networking in 2024, Including Events Like Virtual and In-Person Tello Party, Moonlight Madness, A Shop Local Campaign , Business Decorating Competition, Pursuit of the ACE Competition, and help with the Christmas Community Event.

Dave Amott, President of the Malaig Trade Chamber, also a letter that transmits some of the challenges facing the organization that requires support from the Council.

“Our cost of cutting grass and care is increasing as it is everywhere else, so any financial support you can provide will be used to help maintain the quality of life and the pride of the community to which we are , as a chamber, we have engaged in so many years for so many years, ”said Amot.

The Mallaig Chamber of Commerce has some projects that take place in the spring, carried by its plans in 2024, including roofs and improvements to the Iron Horse Trail placement area and improvements to Malaig Beach camping.

“We know it is a big expense to do everything involving playgrounds, but we are committed to saving the infrastructure we already have there,” Amit explained. Improvements also include repairs to the Cook Shack roof.

Terry Hampson, leaving president of the Elk Point Chamber of Commerce, also wrote to the Council, talking about the achievements of the House in 2024, including the hosting of Elk Point’s first Chili Point cooking and the first start of Elk Point Ultra 60 km.

Other achievements, according to Hampson, include the participation of the Elk Point Chamber in Bloom’s competition, where Elk Point has achieved three flowering.

“St. Paul was an invaluable partner in these successes and your constant financial support allows us to implement meaningful initiatives that are beneficial for our community and region,” Hampson wrote. “This year, we respectfully want your constant financial contribution of $ 5,000 to help us to upgrade this momentum in 2025”

A proposal was transferred to provide $ 10,000 to the operational budget of the St. Saint and $ 5,000 Chamber of Commerce and $ 5,000 for the Elk Point Chamber of Commerce and the Mallaig Chamber of Commerce.
