St. Paul’s police claims that an 11-year-old who was shot in the finger is the one who is responsible for his injury, not another person, as he initially said.
At 6:55 pm on Thursday, officers were summoned into a 800 block on the Third Street East by a report of an 11-year-old, who was shot in the finger. The boy was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The boy told the police that he was coming from a recreation center when an unknown man approached him and fired six shots at him, hitting his finger.
However, when the officers began to investigate the shooting, they said they believed that the shooting had happened inside the house and was accidental.
Speaking to the 11-year-old youth again, police said he admitted that he had accidentally shot himself in a finger with a gun.
Investigators said they had received an order to search the residence and reinstated two pistols. The investigation is still ongoing.
