Spirit Airlines adds a seasonal, continuous service from Birmingham-Shuttrswwwwwwww-Shuttrswwwww to the Newark Liberti International Airport (EWR) this summer.

This move comes less than four months after the start of Spirit in BHM with flights to FT. Lauderdale.

Daily Service begins on June 4th and is available for reservation now.

EWR is located about 15 miles from Manhattan, offering the promise of a quick breakthrough from the magical city to New York.

“We are glad to see Spirit Airlines, who continue to invest in this community,” said Ashby Pate, chairman of the Birmingham airport body. “Their decision to add another destination speaks a lot about their confidence in this market, and we are so pleased that customers will have another nonstop, low option when traveling this summer.”

The low -cost Spirit Airlines are based in Dania Beach, Florida. Newark’s new service is the fourth new route added to Birmingham-Shuttlesworth since October.

John Kirby, Vice President of Spirit Airlines Network Planning, said the service would provide Flyers with “high value and a convenient way to visit the New York area this summer and joins our continuous service at Fort Loderdale.”

In 2024, over 3.2 million people came through BHM, representing a 6% increase over traffic in 2023.
