Virginia Beach – Former US Rep. Abigail Spanberger Spent a Saturday in Hampton Roads for the Second Time This Month, Trying to make Her Case That is up to the challenge of taking on lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears in This Year’s Race for Governor of Virginia.
The Black Month Campaign event at the BlackEed Peas Soul Food Food Restaurant is coming, as rumors have spread a major challenge from US representative Bobby Scott a few weeks ago. The long-standing congressman did not enter the race, but has weighed his capabilities, he told the Virginian pilot in January-without a time-making line.
The potential of Scott’s campaign came, as some Democrats say concern about the ability of Spangberger to attract black voters. She said her record in the 7th Congress County, which includes Frederixburg and whose voters are about 20% black, speaks for herself.
“We had a great diversity in geography regarding racial demography in terms of language spoken at home,” says the 45 -year -old Spangberger.
She said her work efforts were reflected in her three victories before and after a redistribution of 2021, which diverted the sector – removing parts of Henrico County, among other areas.
She also said that she understands why some unknown voters may be skeptical, which is partly the reason for resigning in the United States to run a full -time campaign.
“If someone asks you to put your faith in them, your trust in them and give them their vote, I think people have the right to have a little careful eye,” said Spangberger.
It also sounded the alarm for President Donald Trump’s plans and advisor Elon Musk to eternate the federal workforce. According to the reports of the Associated Press, the Trump administration began to fire test staff at several federal agencies last week, including the Ministry of Veterans. Approximately 5.7% of Hampton Rhodes’ workforce is federal employees, according to an analysis of Federal data from The Washington Post.
“The potential effects are catastrophic on the livelihood of individual Virginians, on the Virginia economy,” she said.
Beyond workers and their families, extensive redundancies can harm small businesses that often encounter and harm Virginia’s ability to pay unemployment benefits, Spangberger said.
“If you think you will lose your job or are worried, you do not bring your family to dinner on Friday,” she said. “You will not go to the movies.”
The Earl-Service campaign did not return a comment on Saturday. However, the 60-year-old former Norfolk delegate recently told the Associated Press that Trump is conducting an inventory of the federal workforce and is looking for the savings she supports.
On February 1, Spanberger hosted an event for meetings and congratulations on veterans from the area with Del. Michael Feggans, D-Virginia Beach, and also spent time over the weekend, touring other places at Hampton Rhodes, according to the campaign.
Spanberger led Earle-Sears 44%-34%, with 17%of voters being vague, in the latest Virginia Governor’s poll of the University of L. Douglas Wilder and public issues at the University of Virginia Commonwealth, released on January 24th. If neither Scott nor other candidates enter the competition, the community will be guaranteed to choose its first wife manager.
