The Reno Travelers will have a new nonstop option for Austin, Texas, as Southwest Airlines is preparing to launch a circle of daily flights between the two cities.
The continuous flights of Southwest Airlines between Reno-Tahoe International Airport and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport should start on March 6th. The nonstop route, which will have daily departments three times a week from the two cities, was part of several flights that Southwest Airlines reported last year.
In addition to Reno-Austin, Southwest Airlines also added continuous flights between Austin and Milwaukee, Nashville and Indianapolis and Sacramento and Tuson.
The new Reno-Austin route from the southwest is filling out the need, identified in the community, according to Nicole Staton, a public affairs manager at Renault-Taho Airport.
“Austin, Texas, was a top destination requested by local business, through our business survey at the airport community,” Staton said.
Which days, times will be available on nonstop flights to the southwest Reno-Austin?
The new Reno-Austin Nonstop flights of Southwest Airlines are designed to work on Monday, Thursday and Friday.
Southwest.com’s reservation information showed the following time for departure and arrival of Reno-Austin flights.
- From Renault: He leaves at 10:35 am and arrives in Austin 15:45, for three hours and 10 minutes.
- From Austin: He leaves at 14:15 and arrives at 16:05, for a three -hour flight and 50 minutes.
What other new flights have been added to Renault-Taho International Airport?
The Reno-Austin route is one of several flights added to Renault-Taho International Airport.
Frontier Airlines is planned to return to Renault on March 7 with new continuous flights to Las Vegas and Denver.
Renault’s flights were part of 16 new flights that Frontier announced in November.
Other flights, which have been added to Renault in the last year, include continuous service in Atlanta by Delta Airlines, as well as Los Angeles and San Diego from Alaska Airlines. In addition, previously seasonal flights from UNITED AIRLINES to Chicago were turned into year-round flights.
Last year, Reno-Tahoe International Airport served 4.8 million passengers, an increase of 4.57 million in 2023 and a maximum of 2007. The Reno-Tahoe airport body also designs a 5% jump in the number of passengers this year.
“The new nonstop destinations, extended routes and additional places have contributed mainly to this increase in passengers,” Staton said.
“Last year, there was an increase in business trips and we see that they last until 2025, affecting a 5% increase in available places (during the first quarter of the year.”
