Laredo, Texas (KGNS) – Immediately after the WBCA parade on Saturday, February 22, the lunch of Southern Texas was held in honor of David Winfind Kylam for his contribution to the Community.
Cylam was born and raised in Laredo. He is a businessman in oil and gas, real estate and ranch. His family works to improve life in Laredo by supporting education, healthcare and local businesses.
One of their biggest contributions was the donation of 300 acres of land, where the Texas A&M International University is now.
The South Texas Award is awarded every year to someone who has made a big difference in the region. This year, Klam was recognized as his efforts to help Laredo grow and succeed.
