Hialea’s tax trainer has been sentenced to nearly five years in the Federal Prison for organizing a $ 20 million tax fraud scheme, which extends for several years and violated a previous court order that prevented her from preparing counterfeit tax returns.

The 61 -year -old Beatrice Toledo, the owner of the Group LLC immigration and tax group, was sentenced on Friday after pleading guilty in December 2024 for supporting and supporting the preparation of counterfeit tax returns.

In addition to 57 months in prison, it will serve a year of controlled release and have to pay more than $ 20 million IRS restitution.

Prosecutors said that between 2017 and 2021, Toledo deliberately filed thousands of fraudulent tax returns, inflating customer recovery, lying for falsely demanding housing energy loans, detailed deductions for state and local sales taxes and illegitimate business expenses.

In total, she presented about 7,800 fraudulent declarations, causing approximately $ 20 million in tax revenue lost, authorities said.

Her business raised approximately $ 7.1 million in preparation fees that were deducted directly from checks to restore customer recovery.

Toledo’s crimes also violated the permanent order imposed on her in 2010 by a federal district judge who prohibited her from preparing false tax returns.

Although she agreed with the order in 2020, she continued the fraudulent activity and was accused in 2024.

Authorities have announced that the case has undergone an IRS commitment to deal with tax fraud and hold responsible offenders.
