South Carolina Women’s Basketball Against Texas Prognosis: Top SECT TEST remains for Dawn Staley? – Greenville News

After winning the first round 67-50, the women’s basketball of South Carolina has a rematch with Texas.

Gamecocks # 2 (22-1, 10-0 sec) travel to Moody Center in Austin for the second Home and Home game with No. 6 Longhorns (23-2, 9-1) on Sunday (2 PM ET, ESPN).

Texas rode a winning series of seven games after not losing the first time he faces dawn coach Staley on January 12, and South Carolina won 17 straight.

Here’s what you know about Texas before the rematch on Sunday:

What did South Carolina Coach Dawn Staley say about Texas star Madison Booker

Madison Booker, the star sophomore for Texas, had what Staley said was just a bad game on January 12th. She led Longhorns with an average of 14.9 points, but finished 3 out of 19 of the pitch and scored only seven points.

Much of this was senior guard Brie Hall, who forced her in difficult shots and locked her in the defense, but Booker missed a rather open appearance. From this game it has scored over 12 points per game, including two matches with 26 or more.

It is now an average of 16.3 points and 6.4 struggles per game.

“You have to make her uncomfortable. You have to make her think about a second guessing of some pictures,” Staley told Booker. “You just have to break the Cadanas and break the flow of how she wants to play the game, because if you allow her to just go at the speed she loves to go … She will defeat you every time.”

What does a texas win for South Carolina means dawn Staley

Gamecocks are the only team with the perfect conference record. There are three teams with only one loss to SEC: Texas, LSU and Kentucky. South Carolina plays Kentucky on March 2.

Staley said that it was discussed how important these late victories were in SEC, especially for a team like Texas sitting behind them in the standings.

“This is for us to control our own fate against a look back and say,” We want this person to lose, we want this person to lose, “Steeli said. “We have to win, we have to win so we don’t worry about all the other things if you lose.”

South Carolina against Texas was a bounce battle

South Carolina was destroyed on the boards in the first half against Texas, as Longhorns grabbed 10 offensive fights only five minutes in the game. Gamecocks cleaned things to finish with 42 rebounds by the 40s.

South Carolina is No. 12 in the country, with an average of 42,91 struggles per match and Texas No. 41 average 40.24.

This is a point of accent for both teams to remove each other’s struggles for the second chance, and South Carolina cannot allow Longhorns to receive as many pictures of a second chance as the first time.
