South Carolina returns home for one goal: find a way to win. This has not done this in 54 days, but there is always a chance that can change.
Gamecocks (10-16, 0-13 sec) will host Texas Longhorm at the Colonial Life Arena on Saturday night. The advice is at 20:30 on the SEC network.
Here are three things to watch, an opponent of Longhorns intelligence, plus the latest injury report.
Thomas should start strong, then do it for as many as 40
Jamarius Thomas had a nice trip against LSU on Tuesday, as he finished with 23 points at firing 9 on 16 and 3-from-6 back. But the greater part of his point came in the second half, where he had 19 points.
This is the case with the senior guard this season. He was not always great at the beginning of the games. When he gets out of the break, it seems that something is just clicking on him. He is a much better player as the game carries.
In order for South Carolina to finally enter the victory column, Thomas will have to play better than that. This means that it cannot start slowly and not provide much in the first half. If he manages to start a good start and then carry it after half, he will be dangerous.

The new league team
After years in the big 12, Texas is now officially a member of SEC. Ever since he joined the men’s basketball, it was a year up and down for Longhorns, which began a strong in the game that is not a conference but has been inconsistent since 2025 since 2025.
They went on a pair of losing three games with two other losses, mixed to sit at 5-8 on SEC. This is not as bad as what was for South Carolina. But it just shows how difficult it is to win in this league.
Texas is 2-4 on the road in the SEC game, with its victories coming to Oklahoma and LSU. He just took a good team in Kentucky last Saturday and had the vacation of the week of the game. Can it enter the colonial arena of life affect their presentation? It all depends on what kind of crowd appears on Saturday.
Expect a severe dose of triples
Although Texas was not too successful in the conference game this year, it can win games in a very simple way. Hit a lot of triangers and force many missed triplets from the other team. If South Carolina hopes to win this game, she should avoid allowing Texas to get into a rhythm. On the reverse, you need to find a more consistent shot. Gamecocks shoots much better after the break at 57.1 percent clip against LSU. They did not shoot so hot in the first half, which made it difficult to climb back into the game. But if they can play like this for 40 minutes, it can be a closely woven battle.
