South Carolina returns LSU – Northwest Arkansas Democrat -Gazette

Colombia, South Carolina-Joyce Edwards scored 14 points, and Sanja Feigin added 12 points and seven rebounds, and number 2 South Carolina beat the fifth LSU ranked 66-56 on Friday night to put an end to the unbeaten season of tigers.

Gamecocks (19-1, 7-0) won their 17th consecutive match over LSU and all five since Kim Burlks took over the tiger coach. The meeting, postponed from the scheduled Thursday night in Primetima due to a winter storm, had all the drama typical of the meetings between the teams that won the last three national titles.

Aneesah Morrow recorded 15 points and 16 rebounds, and Flau’jae Johnson added 13 for LSU.

South Carolina opened a 10-point lead in the third quarter and LSU (20-1, 5-1) failed to respond. The loss of tigers leaves number 1 Ucla, the only team to defeat South Carolina this season as the only left unbeaten team in the country.

South Carolina won 69 consecutive games at home and 54 in a row in the regular season of SEC.

Gamecocks detained Tigers to firing 5-for-20 in the third quarter. Johnson, LSU, scored only two points in the second part.

Vilanova 74

Milwaukee – Stevie Mitchell reached the peak in her career with 21 points, and 10 Market continued her recent dominance over Vilanova.

Chase Ross added 18 points, and Kam Jones had 16 to help Market (17-3, 8-1) beat Vilanova for the eighth time and to equalize the number 20 of St. Jones for the first place in the big East.

The Golden Eagles have not lost to Vilanova since Shaka Smart took over the trainer of Market in 2021.

Jordan Lonjino had a 27-point career record and seven assists for Vilanova (12-9, 5-5). Eric Dickson, who entered the night with the leader in Division I with 24.9 points per game, scored 15 of his 18 points after half.

West Lafayette, Indiana – Braden Smith had 24 points, 10 assists, 7 rebounds and 4 stolen balls to help the # 11 Purdue beat # 21 Michigan.

Smith was 10 out of 17 on the floor and there was only one loss in 37 minutes to join almost Joe Barry Carroll as the only Partyu-Downdown players. Carrel had 16 points, 16 rebounds and 11 blocks against Arizona in December 1977.

Fletcher Loyer added 18 points and Trey Kaufman-Ren had 15 when Boyermakers (16-5, 8-2) recovered from his first home loss for the season on Tuesday night against Ohio State with a loud celebration in the 500th game of the big one A ten of Maki Arena.

Vladislav Goldin scored 14 points for Michigan (14-5, 6-2) in the second consecutive loss. Tre Donaldson, Nimari Burnett and Roda Gail Jr. had 11 points each.

But the motivated Smith made sure that this game would never be close.

Purdue started with Series 13-2 and led by 36-13 in the middle of the first half. Boilermakers led by 29 before they were satisfied with their biggest half-time lead this season at 51-26.
