COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – Election Day 2024 is finally here.
A record 1.5 million votes were cast during early voting in South Carolina.
Only registered voters can vote in South Carolina on Election Day.
Groups are open from 7am to 7pm. If you are still in line at 7pm, you will still be able to vote.
During early voting, voters can visit any polling place they wish. However, on Election Day, residents must vote at their designated precinct, which can be found on the SC Votes website.
If you want to know what your ballot will look like before you get to the polls, you can request a sample ballot on the SC Votes website so you’re prepared. This page will also tell you where you should vote on Election Day.
If you still have an absentee ballot, state officials said you can return it to your local precinct by 7 p.m. on Election Day.
In South Carolina, votes will not be counted until polls close at 7 p.m
People who see problems at the polls on Election Day are asked to report them to the appropriate state and local authorities. The US Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are also monitoring the voting process in South Carolina.
Anyone with concerns can contact the Division of Civil Rights or the FBI
