Dorchester County, SC (WCIV) – South Carolina Prosecutor General Alan Wilson attended the Republican Dorchester County Social Meeting on Thursday on Country Club Summerville, where he addressed his participation in a trial of Section 504, which provides school premises for people with disabilities.
Wilson emphasized his support for accommodation in section 504.
“For me personally, I am fully supporting 504 premises,” Wilson said. “I don’t want to take them out of my parents, I don’t want to take them away from families, 100% engaged in it.”

Section 504 is a law that protects school accommodation for children with disabilities such as ADHD or diabetes.
He also assured that his office did not intend to completely eliminate section 504.
“I have members of my staff whose children receive support and accommodation under 504 years old. We do not get rid of 504, I will not be part of a lawsuit that will get rid of 504,” Wilson said.
Wilson explained that his focus was on the challenge of the part of the act he considers to be gender damage, claiming to be illegal according to the original intention of the law.
On January 20, President Donald Trump signed an enforcement order that canceled President Joe Biden’s order, which added “sexual identity disorders” to the law.
Then South Carolina joined the case of 17 countries led by Texas, challenging this enforcement order. The Prosecutor General has joined the court case with the sole intention of eliminating “sexual identity disorders” and restoring section 504 to what Congress initially passed.
