The South Carolina Men’s Basketball Team Gamecocks faced a challenging match against 13 Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Colonial Life Arena in Colombia, South Carolina. Despite the valiant efforts, Gamecocks did not consist, with a final result of 76-72 in favor of Aggies.
Texas guard A&M Wade Taylor IV led all goalscorers with 25 points, making his career high, hitting seven triangers. Its sharp sewing was mainly in the establishment and maintenance of the AGGIES lead throughout the game.
The agias began strongly, building a lead by 12-5 at the beginning of the first half. However, Gamecocks responded with 11-2 runs, briefly taking the lead to 16-14. Texas A&M regained control by extending its advantage to 44-36 to half.
In the second half, the ages expanded their lead to 49-36, but Gamecocks returned, narrowing the gap to 49-47. Despite the efforts of South Carolina, Texas A&M maintained its lead, with the seventh Trive Taylor brought them forward with 68-59. Gamecocks continued to fight, entering within two points with 6:59, but Aggies secured the victory with decisive free throws in the final seconds.
For South Carolina, the sophomore Colin Murray Biles gave exceptional results, leading the team with 22 points, going 11 to 16 (68.8%) from the floor. He also contributed to seven fights, six assists, two blocks and two thefts. Guard Jamarius Thomas contributed 15 points, while Zahari Davis and Morris Ugusuk added 12 points each.
