LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Winsor Park has been a sinking neighborhood in North Las Vegas for decades, but experts have confirmed the soil is suitable for building.
People living in Windsor Park are hoping for new homes that will be funded with public money. These homes are expected to be built outside the neighborhood for current residents.
The Nevada Center for Community Development Programs told FOX5 that a permit has been granted to build right next to Windsor Park.
A soil survey says it is safe, but recommends placing special slabs on the foundation of these homes.
The organization explained that the challenge they face is that 100 individuals own plots next to the complex, but so far only 30 are ready to sell.
