Snowstorm can throw a few inches through Se minnesota, Western Wisconsin – Kroc -am

This is a frigid day in southeastern Minnesota. Cold weather consultant is in force until 9 o’clock in the morning when Windchills is immersed well below zero in some areas. After this section of an Arctic pace, the snow is on its way to Friday and Saturday.

The National Meteorological Service at La Crosse is closely monitoring two snow systems that could be difficult to develop while heading for the weekend.

The snowfall in SE Minnesota may affect the trip of Friday night

The snow is expected to move on Friday afternoon, starting from Southeast Minnesota and Northeast Iowa before spreading to Western Wisconsin.

The weather is not great, as the worst snow can fall during the evening trip, with some areas seeing a snowfall of 1 inch per hour, which means that the roads can become rapid quickly and visibility can be bad.

The current forecasts show that the Rochester area has a 63% chance of getting two or more inchs of snow. The further we go, the greater the likelihood of more than two inches of snow.

Most of the Western Wisconsin has an 85-90% chance of getting at least two inches of snow on Friday, with some areas probably seeing more than four inches. If you have to travel, be prepared for snowy roads and take extra care on highways such as the Interstate 90 and Highway 61.

Saturday brings more snow to SE Minnesota, West Wisconsin, North Iowa

After the snow on Friday there is not much rest. Another round is probably on Saturday, with the largest snow expected mainly south of the Interstate 90, according to NWS forecasts.

“At the moment it seems that another 1-3” may fall, but there are some low chances for higher quantities, as can be seen from the graph, “NWS says.

Roads can remain snowy and slippery for most of the weekend, so reaching events or ordering can take extra time.

Forecasters say there is still some uncertainty with the exact amounts of snow and where the largest snow will fall, so it is important to stay up -to -date when the weekend approaches.
