Six rotations and a half.
This is how many times you have to rotate in the middle to land 2340, which is what the snowboarder and skier did for the first time in history, of X Games in Aspen, Coloras.
First was 19-year-old Hiro Ogivara from Japan, who withdrew the course during the Pacifico Men Snowboarding Big Air event on Friday.
In a running video, Ogivara descends the snowy hill and begins to spin just as it reaches the top of the ramp, continuing to go around as it sails in the air. After landing, he throws his hands into a celebration as the crowd divorces.
“I am the first in the world to do this. I have never been as happy as this,” Ogivara said after finishing the trick, according to Olympics.com. “It was really the biggest moment. I felt I used every ounce of energy I had.”
Then Miro Tabanelli Skior became the first person to land 2340 in a ski race. The 20-year-old Italian reached a record move during the Pacifico Men Ski Big Air Men Competition on Saturday.
Both Ogivara and Tabaneli won gold in their relevant events.
In 2022, Ogivara made his back 2160 – six full rotations – 16 years old.
