Sister Sarah Shrewsbury, known for her adventurous spirit and outgoing personality, died on January 22, 2025 in Newrie, Ireland at the age of 74. She was summoned to the St. Paul Catholic Church in 1988 as a pastoral associate of Father Mike Mike Maher after the church was founded in Chino Hills.
Previously, she worked in Catholic education during her earlier years of ministry, being the director of St. Angela Merica School in Brea.
She was born in a hundredth, California.
Cf. Sarah, from the sisters St. Claire, has created several servants in St. Paul, including the family neighborhood network, the Spanish tables, celebrated in the homes of Los Seranos residents, prayer vigils and numerous adults and youth.
She was best known for her leadership in the children’s liturgy, where shecs young people during the liturgy and went to the courtyard for biblical stories and catechism.
Cf. Sarah enjoyed all aspects of life. She was an avid pheasant hunter, playing guitar, enjoying linear dances, making several missionary trips to El Salvador’s torn apart in the 1980s, and once had a business with T-shirts called “sweet monks.” She was involved in the “Enter the Bus” program, which transports children to visit their deprived parents in various prisons, including the California Women’s Institution in Chin.
Later, she became the director of the Diocese of the Diocese in San Bernardino, which leads 23 years.
She retired to the monastery of her command in Ireland after she became ill and spent her other years in the care of her religious community.
The Resurrection table was marked in the chapel of St. Clare’s monastery in Newrie, Ireland on January 25th.
Diocese spokesman John Andrews said he was not familiar with local memorial masses planned for sister Sarah.
