Sioux Valley boys fall on De Smet in Sioux Falls – Brookings Register

Sioux Falls – the Sioux Valley Boys’ Basketball Team appeared against De Smet on Saturday at the HERITage classic in the Pentagon of Sanford in Siu Falls.

The Cossacks fell 59-52 of the Bulldogs. The difference was the second and third quarter. The Cossacks led 14-11 at the end of the first quarter, but then De Smet outpaced the Sioux Valley 19-12 in the second quarter. The bulldogs extended the lead to 46-38 by the end of the third quarter. The Cossacks had an advantage of 14-13 in the last quarter.

Sioux Valley fired 39.6% of the terrain and was 7 to 22 beyond the arc. The Cossacks were led by Maverick Nelson, who had 20 points and seven struggles. Brady Hiltunen had 10 points. Carter Sap and Brock Christoferson had eight points.

De Smet fired 41.8% of the terrain and was 6 in 18 out of three. The bulldogs were led by Grant Wilkinson, who had 24 points and 15 rebounds. Ganon Henry had 15 points and Carter Wilkinson had 13 points.

The bulldogs had 40 rebounds and the Cossacks had 22. The Valley of the SIV had eight rpm and the garbage had 16. The Cossacks were 3-from-7 at the free throw line and the bulldogs were 7 out of 13.

The Cossacks dropped to 7-7 with the loss. They play in Flndro on Thursday at 6:15 pm.
