Sighting order: Durham Educator tied a 6-year-old girl to a chair with a rope for a jump-wral news

The recently unsealed search order shows that the Durham police are investigating a possible abuse of a child with disabilities in the hands of adults in her classroom.

Wral does not name the two teachers mentioned in the order, as they have not been charged with a crime since Wednesday afternoon.

The two Varants were executed on January 15 at the Durham State School Headquarters for all human resources information and the employment of two teachers and any photos or correspondence for the abuse of a 6-year-old girl.

They say the Varants in November 2024, “” The director of the Valley Elementary, Togu Wright, received a photo, slipped under her door by an anonymous man. The photo showed [the child] tied to a chair with a jump rope. “

The order lists the victim’s initials; Wral does not include these initials to protect her identity.

According to the order, the director stated that the DPS would not share the photo with the law enforcement authorities without a court order.

The order cited a replacement teacher saying that she witnessed one of the other teachers to bind the child, “because she was disappointed with the tanniating and interruption of other students.”

This replacement teacher said that he was also witnessing that the girl was untied at the end of another day and that a third classroom teacher did not stop and did not report the other teacher.

The order states that the mother of the child announced that she had come home with “unexplained bruises from school” and was told that her daughter “falls” to school.

The child had bruises on his stomach and her hips and had come home with a destroyed lip, which required her to be taken to his pediatrician.

The order states that both classroom teachers were placed on administrative leave after the photo was given to the director. Both later resigned. It is unclear when this happened or what internal investigations were conducted by DPS.

Wral News addressed Durham public schools, asking how and when the law enforcement agencies were notified of the alleged abuse, whether the school principal follows the protocol and the timeline of any internal investigations.

The area provided the following statement: “This issue is currently being investigated and no additional information is available due to the restrictions on staff confidentiality.”

Durham police issued this statement about their investigation:

“We have checked with investigators and we can confirm that our employees responded to a report on violence against children in the elementary school of the ENO Valley of 117 Milton Road on 16:52 on November 25, 2024. The investigation is going filed.
