“Show me your hands”: footage of a camera worn out of the body

Wednesday, northern Las Vegas police provided the first briefing for news after the shooting that led to the death of a police officer in North Las Vegas Jason Roskov.

They provided footage and calls that brought the officer to the neighborhood where it happened.

This comes as the community continues to grieve and Roskov’s family plans his funeral.

“Hands up. Show me your hands,” Roskov may be heard in the footage of the camera worn by the body before shooting broke out.

The incident was left by 46-year-old Roskov and suspected 25-year-old Alexander Mattis dead on February 4th.

“I would like to start the expansion of his deepest condolences to his family and the men and women who had the honor and privilege of serving with him for more than 17 years,” said the Jacqueline Gravit of the North Las Vegas Police Department.

The department released the 9-1-1 calls, which led police in North Las Vegas near Camino Al Norte and Lone Mountain Road about two in the afternoon.

The voice of the 1st 911 call: “Among them – what is this Craig and Martin Luther King? Near Lone Mountain. He walks with a gun, throws rocks on the cars and broke my window.

Voice of the 2nd 911 call: There is a man on the street who throws rocks on the cars and hit my truck and break my side window.

Dispatcher: Is he white, black, Asian or Spanish -eating?

Calling: Black.

Dispatcher: Do you know what color shirt and pants wears?

Calling: black and black.

Police in North Las Vegas defined the man as Matisse.

Police said he had a 9 million Makarov pistol.

Police claim that when officers arrived, Matisus ran and the officer Roskov was the first to catch up when he came out of a house.

Police say the officer Roskov told Matisse to show his hands and Matisse approached him, leading to a firing exchange.

“Officer Roskov saw to move to the left using the parked jeep as a barrier between Matisse and himself,” said Assistant Adam Hyde of the North Las Vegas Police Department. “Matisse approached him and they both exchanged shooting. Matisse continued to progress aggressively to officer Roskov after Roskov was hit repeatedly. Matis was hit once by officer Roskov.”

North Las Vegas Louis Louis Machias-Venegas also fired a circle at the incident shown in the video worn on the body shared Wednesday.

Both Matisse and officer Roskov died of their injuries at UMC Hospital.

The transition of officer Roskov serves as a reminder of the extreme dangers that men and women in uniform encounter every day as they boldly protect and serve our community, “Gravatt said.

Police also revealed that Matisse has a previous criminal history.

It involves carrying a hidden weapon without permission and small theft.
