The Georgetown Police Department asks for the public to help find one of the people involved in armed robbery and change during which shots were fired.
According to police, Jacken Ilia Smith was one of the three people who participated in the incident earlier this week.
In the Georgetown Police Incident Report, it is said that the employees were sent to the block in 2000 on Gilbert Street around 9pm February 9th, where they met with 20-year-old Devante Hughes, who said Smith went to his home, to buy a gun.
At one point, during the transaction, Smith claims to have tried to grab the Hughes firearms, which led to a physical dispute.
During the fight, an unknown man who was with Smith “fired several rounds of a Hughes gun, which was not wounded, the report said.
The report also states that Smith calls the man to “shoot him, shoot him, shoot him.”
Hughes, said in the report, encountered his house, and Smith, and the other man ran in separate directions. “Smith had a stolen firearm possessed after his escape,” the report said. “Then Hughes removed a Mosberg rifle from his interior and began to shoot at the unknown man as he fled from the residence.”
Hughes was taken to the police station to be questioned, he was arrested for throwing a firearm within the city.
Smith is 5’5 height and weighing 240. Smith lives in the Bayview area in Georgetown.
Smith should be considered armed and dangerous.
