The woman was looking at the food hall of Arnsison, the Durham Shop when it is said that she broke over her head and urine and faeces removed on her.

A buyer said: “The relaxing pipe displays a large amount of human waste and toilet water directly on it, soaking it.

“I’m sorry for this poor lady – she almost hit, I hope she’s not hurt or sick.”

The food hall was open for shopping, but the paths were surrounded by the cleaning products.

The witness said, “The markers left the food room open for shopping as they began to clean the mess, but the bakery and three or four paths were closed.

“The smell was terrible and I left my shopping shortly.

“I cannot believe they have left the place open to people who shop for food with this amount of human waste throughout the stock and this poor woman.”
