Last Friday (October 18), the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ singer took to social media to announce just two weeks before the start of her North American tour that the shows were being postponed due to overwhelming demand.
After overwhelming demand from fans for more tickets and more concerts, Shakira and Live Nation decided to change all of the tour’s venues from arenas to larger stadiums. However, these changes would mean that the shows will take place at a later date – which is already confirmed to start in May next year.
Shakira wrote on social media last night (October 21): “So excited to share my best show yet with you. Thank you all for supporting me and inspiring me to keep fighting. I can’t wait to celebrate with you in May!”

In other news, the singer recently settled her Spanish tax fraud case for $15 million “to protect” her children, “be there for them” and “move on with her life.”
She addressed her legal battle with Spanish authorities, who accused her of tax evasion between 2012 and 2014, when she was allegedly a resident of the country. The singer has denied wrongdoing, explaining that she agreed to the settlement to protect her two young sons, Milan, 11, and Sasha, 9.
She was hit with the first set of charges in 2021, when prosecutors in Barcelona said Shakira should have paid taxes because she lived in Spain for a significant period of time between 2012 and 2014. The second wave of charges came September 2023. The Colombian pop icon was again accused of tax evasion in Spain – this time prosecutors claimed she failed to pay €6.7m (£5.8m) in tax on her 2018 income.
Last November, Shakira reached a settlement with Spanish authorities after agreeing to pay off the massive debt to avoid potential jail time.
She has since released her twelfth studio album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. In a four star review, NME said: “With a career spanning four decades, she continues to push the boundaries of Latin pop music and make the genre a global event […] With this vulnerable yet versatile collection, Shakira shows that there are no limits to the art of her catharsis through song.”
