[This story contains spoilers from season two, episode two of Severance, “Goodbye, Mrs. Selvig.”]
– Okay. You don’t pick up. I understand it. I want you to know, my Innie received the message. ”
This is one of a few lines from Irving (John Turburo) in the last installment of Indemnity“Goodbye, D -Ja Selvig”, which serves as a counterpoint to the premiere of the second season. When the first episode focuses solely on Innies on the other side of the Emergency Plan, the episode two centers of Outiies as they are oriented in the actions of their work.
We see exactly how the next hours were played for each of the MDR four, with one exception: Irving. The dogmatic dogmatic worker of John Turturo has lost his loyalty to Lumo in the first season, thanks to his increasing love for Burt (Christopher Wower). After Burt’s forced retirement, Irving pushed everything into the Innies plot to break into the real world. But unlike his colleagues, the Innie Erving Road back to Outie Izing remains wrapped in mystery.
Of course, we are all wondering if it is Helena or Heli (Brit Lower) of the cut under the Lumin, but the least we see Helena dealing with the actions of her Inas. However, we boarded him for hours after his entrance climbs into Outie Burt’s house to announce his love. When we last left the hero, he crashed at Burt’s door. When we register again in the episode of the past week, he returned to his own place. What happened between these two points? It is a mystery that we are waiting to see, answered in the coming weeks, especially given the Outie Irving’s obvious story against Lumon.
At the finals of the first season, Inine Irving sees that his outdoor has retained detailed files for all Lumon things, including tracking several of the company’s employees. This adds some intrigue to a scene in the episode of this week, in which Irving calls from a typhoon, reaching an unknown voicemail. “My Innie received the message,” we hear it saying, which opens a bunch of questions, including what is the message? And who talk about it?
Some immediate possibilities come to mind:
C Burt, Irring’s love interest. We have absolutely no idea what the relationship between Irving and Burt looks like, given the show’s decision to jump straight from Burt’s front door to Irving’s home. However, if it is something similar to their Inas, there is at least some attachment between these two men, if not an outspoken affair. Burt’s name was on the Lumon Outie Irving list. Are they already in Cahoots against the company? This would help explain why Burt appears in the episode, looking at Irving from afar.
° if not Burt, then maybe it’s someone close to Burt, like his old colleague for optics and design, Felicia (Claudia Robinson). She is the woman in charge of O & D now that Burt is out of the Lumon mixture. If it is aligned with Irving from the outside, then maybe it is a powerful ally inside.
° Another person in the world of Lumon we have not yet seen this season, but we hope to meet again before long: Reghabi (Karen Aldridge), a former Lumona employee who worked with Piti (Yul Vasquez) during the first season to become “non -sowing” or “reintegrated”. We know that Reghabi has an eye of Mark (Adam Scott) based on their interactions in the first season. Does Reghabi be careful about other MDR employees and if so is Irving one of them?
° maybe a candidate for a dark horse: D -kobel (Patricia Arquette), which goes out of town until the end of the episode of this week. She is out with Lumon and has actually been going down with them since the first episode of the show. Cobel is currently to present a real thorn in Lumo’s country, given what she knows, and heads to her when he leaves the door. What if she was already taking moves like Irving as an accomplice? In the past, we have seen very few scenes between Cobel and Irving, so the potential connection between them is wide open.
By putting the candidates we know about, Burt really is the most clear choice. Things can be as simple as Irving calls his ex flame to apologize for his Innie’s actions. But if we look here at a deeper level as we are often included IndemnityThen the field is much more open, including the characters we are about to meet. Prior to the season, Apple announced the All-Star List of Talent, which joined the cast, including the likes of John Noble and Gwendolin Christie into the still converted roles. Can any of them work with Irving against Lumo and if so, for what purpose?
