Amarilo is known for many different things. Cadillac Ranch, The Big Texan, and now the latest Buc-Ee in America.
Although these things tend to be the first things people mention when they talk about the city, this is not what most locals would bring to someone.
It belongs to the wind. This is the first thing you will hear me mention with someone when they ask about us and for a reasonable reason.
In the longest time, Amarilo has been ranked on the list when it comes to the most Verk cities in America. This is the only thing we can count on year to year.
Well, the wind ranking for 2024 was released and well, Windy City (Chicago) still has nothing at 806.
For the next year, Amarillo has been ranked as the most Bezer city in America. However, our gap closed … slightly.
How windy is amarilo
At an average wind speed of 12.9 miles / h, we clear number two in the list, but .9 miles / h, which has been reduced by full miles / h last year.

What makes Amarillo be so windy
