Amarilo is known for many different things. Cadillac Ranch, The Big Texan, and now the latest Buc-Ee in America.
Although these things tend to be the first things people mention when they talk about the city, this is not what most locals would bring to someone.

How windy is amarilo
At an average wind speed of 12.9 miles / h, we clear number two in the list, but .9 miles / h, which has been reduced by full miles / h last year.
The highest recorded wind speed for the city remained 84 miles / h in 1949.
What makes Amarillo be so windy
The fact that we are in the large plains is the biggest reason for our wind. Because air pressure is relatively unstable, combined with the fact that we have so much flat terrain, it creates more speeding.
The main cities tend not to reach wind speeds consistently due to all built areas.
Are there any other cities in Texas comparable to amarilo
