Second officer in the fatal firing of the police in North Las Vegas – Las Vegas Review -Penel

North Las Vegas police have released the name of a second police officer involved in a firing on Tuesday, which left officer Jason Roskov and a 25-year-old man dead.

Policeman Luis Machias-Venegas was identified by a police station in North Las Vegas in a press release issued on Saturday night.

Corron’s Corronron service on Wednesday said Alexander Matisse had also died in the shooting.

Police said the employees responded to reports of a man pointing a gun to someone shortly before 14:15 near Lone Mountain Road and Camino al Norte.

The suspect, who was armed, ignored officers’ commands and fled, police said. When he later approached Roskov, “a shooting exchange followed,” the police press release said.

Roskov, a 17-year-old veteran of the department and a father of two young boys, was shot dead many times, but managed to return the fire, police said. Both Roskov and Matisse were taken to the University Medical Center, where they were both declared dead.

The Corron cabinet said Roskov died of numerous firearms while Matisse died of a firearm in the head.

Funeral services for Roskov will be held on Thursday. The procession will leave Palm South Jug’s morgue in Las Vegas at 9 o’clock in the morning and head to the Henderson Central Church, where funeral services have been set for 10 am

Police also said Roskov would be laid to rest in his hometown of Prairie du Rocher, Illinois, on a date that would be determined.

“This investigation is still in the preliminary stages and more information will be released when it becomes available,” police said in a press release.
