Seattle’s Fall Colors Are a Must See This Year – Seattlemag

Have you noticed how amazing Seattle is in the fall? We have it all – colorful leaves, cafes, lots of public gardens and parks, cozy bars and everyone in their fluffy sweaters and fall clothes. It’s no wonder locals and tourists turn the city’s beautiful seasonal colors into Instagram gold. Seattle ranked in the top five of the world’s most picturesque fall cities with nearly 18,000 Instagram posts tagged #fallinseattle.

UK-based travel agency Travelbag collected hashtag data on Instagram. Unsurprisingly, New York (#fallinnewyork) and Chicago (#fallinchicago) took first and second place, but Seattle slipped to fifth place, behind Melbourne (#autumninmelbourne) and Seoul (#autumninseoul). We even beat Boston and Tokyo.

Every day, everywhere, I point it out to anyone who will listen: It’s so beautiful right now! The golden hour, just before sunset, is when the red, orange and yellow trees really glow. Yesterday, walking down Fremont Avenue past the Powerhouse, I saw all those bright red trees lined up. And across the water, the north side of Queen Anne Hill looks so beautiful. What’s your favorite place in Seattle right now? Share it with us on Instagram and don’t forget to tag it.
