Seattle Seahawks to trade DK Metcalf to Pittsburgh Steelers – The Wright Way Network

Seattle Seahawks to trade DK Metcalf to Pittsburgh Steelers – The Wright Way Network

With the emergence of Jaxon Smith-Njigba taking over the last few weeks, there should be no reason for the Seattle Seahawks not to keep passing him the ball. DC Metcalf is out with an MCL injury but is week to week. With a chance for him to play next week and the deadline approaching, the Pittsburgh Steelers should consider trading him.

DK Metcalf is the best athlete the NFL has seen since Calvin Johnson. The 6’4 235 pounder has been nothing short of terrific in his first few seasons in the NFL, racking up 5,900 yards and 46 touchdowns in 89 games played. He was the primary target of Russell Wilson and Geno Smith in his young career and made the most of it. However, with second-year Jaxon Smith-Njigba starting to get more targets and having the ability to be Seattle’s number one guy, DK Metcalf could soon hit the trade market. There could be a team that desperately needs a wide receiver, it’s the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have the best defense in the NFL, no question. The Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t worried about that. The struggles come from their quarterback receiving and production. Russell Wilson was named the Steelers’ Week 8 starter against the New York Giants, where he looked promising, almost like his best year almost 10 years ago. George Pickens has been that guy for the Steelers since being drafted in 2022, racking up over 1,900 yards. With the addition of Metcalf, Wilson will have two reliable targets on the outside who can put up 100+ yards each night.

Steelers Receiving – DK Metcalf

If I’m Pittsburgh’s front office and want to be a serious contender in the AFC, you need to help your quarterback and get some wide receiver help. Guys like Van Jefferson and Calvin Austin III won’t get the job done consistently, Metcalf will. Metcalf’s first 200 catches came from Wilson, so they already have that connection. Why not get the boys back together and get the Steelers back to the Super Bowl? The Steelers do, and you won’t be disappointed.
