Seattle – When Wildfire Palisades happened, several non -profit organizations gathered to make sure that the fluffy friends in Los Angeles received the help they need. A second animal full of animals recently landed in Seattle of Paws for Life K9 Rescue, Wings of Rescue and Rory to rescue to help reduce the shelter capacity.

“We send on a very small aircraft, usually up to 18 to 20 dogs on a monthly basis,” says Alex Toner, founder of Paws for Life K9 Rescue. “But with the wings of rescue they have huge planes. Our last transport was a total of 93 dogs, and then a week earlier it was 171 dogs. We sent 38 animals to the western Montana humane society, and then 18 to Idaho to the satellite center for animals.

Two non -profit organizations in Seattle, Pittie Project PNW and Seattle Human, opened their doors to welcome the second delivery of pets in need.

Previous Transport: Dozens of animals from the shelters in the La area arrive in Seattle Human

“We returned to Boeing Field, raising 32 dogs and 12 cats from our friends down to southern California via Wings of Rescue,” said Brandon Makz of Seattle Human. “Their second flight here with us. [We are] Make sure that as many of them are available as possible. “

According to Toner, after the disaster, they were able to save over 300 dogs and transport 281 dogs and 19 cats.

“My goal was to pull 350 animals by the end of January. I think I’m 28 dogs short,” Toner said. “But it is still nice because the shelters can really be reset into LA because they were such a mess and so overcrowded. It’s just fantastic to see these pets be adopted and welcomed in the Seattle homes.”

In Seattle Human, animals rescued from wild fires are marked by a green stem on their adoption documents.

“We had an incredible answer. During the first flight, many people appeared. We had more than 80 people outside their doors to open. Many of them were moving pretty fast,” Makz said. “We still have a few of this flight, which have been detained due to some medical problems that have since resolved, so they are already available. To connect them with their families.”
